If you are considering a liquid facelift ....

As people age, the effects of gravity, exposure to the sun, and the stresses of daily life can be seen in their faces. Creases form between the nose and mouth. The collagen foundation in the skin slowly disappears.  The fat foundation layer under the skin also slowly disappears.

A liquid facelift combines various non surgical techniques that can rebuild the foundation under the skin. The result is a more youthful appearance. Dr Rieger specializes all these various techniques which may be easily combined in a single office visit.

The techniques used for a liquid facelift are the following:

Voluma XC

The best candidates for a liquid facelift
The best candidate for a facelift is a man or woman whose face and neck have lost the foundations under the skin, but whose skin still has some elasticity and whose bone structure is strong and well-defined. Most patients are in their late forties to sixties. In some case when bone structure foundation is lessened from again especially in the cheek Voluma XC may help rebuild that foundation. This injectable product may last up to 18 to 24 months.

A liquid facelift can make you look younger and fresher, and it may enhance your self- confidence in the process.

All procedures carry some uncertainty and risk

The liquid facelift is performed by Dr James Rieger, a board certified plastic surgeon.

When a liquid facelift is performed by a qualified plastic surgeon, complications are rare and usually minor. Still, individuals vary greatly in their anatomy, their physical reactions, and their healing abilities, and the outcome is never completely predictable.

Complications that can occur include hematoma (a collection of blood under the skin that must be removed by the surgeon), infection. Both of these risks are similar to getting a blood test.

Planning your procedure in Wichita Kansas
In your initial consultation the surgeon will evaluate your face, including the skin and underlying bone, and discuss your goals for the surgery.

Your surgeon should check for medical conditions that could cause problems, such as uncontrolled high blood pressure, blood clotting problems, or the tendency to form excessive scars. Be sure to tell your surgeon if you smoke or are taking any drugs or medications, especially aspirin or other drugs that affect clotting.

If you decide to have a liquid facelift, your surgeon will explain the techniques, the risks and costs involved. Don't hesitate to ask your doctor any questions you may have, especially those regarding your expectations and concerns about the results.

The procedure
A liquid facelift visit and procedure usually takes one hour or somewhat longer if you're having more than one procedure done.

There are no skin incisions. The procedures are performed using specialized needles.

After your liquid facelift
There isn't usually significant discomfort after the procedures. Tylenol should usually be all that is needed.

Getting back to normal
You should be up and about that day, but plan on taking it easy for the first day after surgery. Be especially gentle with your face that day after the procedure.

At the beginning, your face may look slightly swollen in the area of the injections. This swelling  may persist for one week.

Your new look
The chances are excellent that you'll be happy with your new look.
